Steep rise in number of US citizens seeking asylum in Ireland

There has been a steep rise in the number of citizens of the US seeking asylum in Ireland.

Fifty-one people from the US applied for international protection in the first half of this year, more than in 2023 and 2024 combined.

51, Fifty-one people OMFG!

The United States' population in 2025 is estimated to be around 347 million to 349 million people, with a mid-year projection of about 347.3 million. This represents continued growth, making the U.S. the third-most populous country in the world.

Yeah, yeah, sure, sure just remember you lot let Rosie in. NO TAKE BACKS.

Remember, these are people claiming that they’re in danger if they stay in the US. Based on their telling a pack of lies, in other words.

It’s more likely covid, remote working and aftermath. People whom have grandparents from Ireland can apply for a dual citizenship. Most people didn’t know the option existed.
