One “weird trick” would be to provoke China to refuse to work with the Taliban until the women of Afghanistan are allowed to work outside the house and go back to school after the 6th grade. Oh, and to be able to even speak out loud outside the home with out the Culture Police beating them with rocks and straps and fists. Maybe China will be the economic force next willing to push Afghanistan into something past the 7th century. Heck knows, we Americans tried. Rules of engagement always held us back.

I remember after the US withdrawal there was talk about China moving in to take their place, and I was waiting for this day. There was never any doubt to me that NO ONE could trust the Taliban, and the Afghans in general.
