A young woman who escaped the perils of war was brutally stabbed to death for no apparent reason on a popular light rail train in North Carolina last week, Tar Heel State law enforcement say.
Decarlos Dejuan Brown, Jr., 34, stands accused of one count of murder in the first degree, according to the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department.
On the night of Aug. 22, Iryna Zarutska, 23, died on the Charlotte Area Transit System's LYNX Blue Line train. She was repeatedly stabbed, at least once in the throat, police claim.
The victim, an artist, had recently arrived in the United States from Ukraine, according to a GoFundMe for her family. She left her native country in order to leave the daily threat of violence behind.
"Ira had recently arrived in the United States, seeking safety from the war and hoping for a new beginning," the fundraiser reads. "Tragically, her life was cut short far too soon."

De Carlos de Juan? Sounds like Spanish nobility.
She comes from an area that isn’t infected, so it’s likely she didn’t know to avoid that guy at all costs.
The killer is well known to the police and has a long history of criminal behavior. According to the article “And there appears to be no motive whatsoever.”
We know what happened. She said no.
Chances are this subhuman should have already been incarcerated.
Ain’t no cash bail great?
You can ornament and dandify the handle any way you wish, but at the end of the day the Brown is still there.
In talking to our fellow employees who worked in Detroit they’d say, “No, it’s not dangerous. If you live here you know where not to be and when not to be there. Therefore it’s perfectly safe.” I’m guessing that she didn’t know when and where not to be. Frankly, I’m terrified of public transportation in big cities.
One of my coworkers picked up his rental car at Detroit’s airport. Apparently, he got off at the wrong exit. Never heard from again. So not only do you need to be situationally aware, but armed and you must have the knowledge of what, when and where is dangerous.
When I went exploring Seatle at night, the only time I had available on that assignment, I taped my name and next of kin to the bottom of my left foot.
EXACTLY what I was thinking 🤔🤔🤔
Yeah... she had no clue... she should have had a sponsor.
While back I had a truck delivered by a guy from Belarus. Had it delivered to our place in LA. He was offloading it and our black neighbors came down the road on horseback. They were armed no biggie to me.
I could tell he was a little unsettled.
Told him there are rural and urban and there is quite a difference.
“she didn’t know to avoid that guy at all costs.”
Yep. Sadly she made several fatal errors.
Moving to Charlotte for one....then taking the train.
Imagine if he was white and she was black.
They lie and lie and lie
to protect the narrative
Escapes war and is killed by……blacks.
A Xenomorph looking to eat another victim.
Because of course, what pretty girl would ever turn down someone with a gigantic cranium, platypus lips and pig nostrils. All the requirements of desirability.
The girl didn’t have a chance.
The mayor made a statement about the murder. The first sentence was about the young woman. The rest of the lenthy statement was about the poor homeless man and why homeless people who struggle with mental issues should not be demonized.
I wonder if he was killing something that he felt she represented.
Innocent legal foreigners should be warned about the very real dangers in America, especially in large cities
Such a shame and should NOT have happened 😔😔😔
Sigh 😞😔😞
