That's mostly the case, although sometimes they sing about nuclear war, space travel, Russia, espionage and auto racing.
My impression of most country music involves at least one of the following events:
1. My woman / man left me
2. My dog died
3. My pickup truck broke down
4. I lost my job
And their dead dog and repossessed trailer.
