George Jones / Johnny Cash wannabe?

Sounds like he has a good publicist to pen his heartfelt messages.

When he craps his pants on stage then he has reached Hank Williams level of drinking before the show.

My favorite country song line, by Junior Brown:

“’Cause You’re wanted by the police, and my wife thinks you’re dead.”

People today are such wussies.
In the early/mid 1970s, Ronnie Van Zant was so drunk that he threw up on stage in Jacksonville, FL. The concert ended, we were pissed off and we went home. The next year they made up for it (or so I heard).

I listened to country music in the 1970’s from 1970 on until 1979 or so when it had become so pop and watered down I needed to find something different.

The best country song ever written: You never call me by my name, David Allen Coe

I agree with you. I don’t generally support whining about circumstances one intentionally puts himself into.

What do you get when you play a country music record backwards?

You get you wife back, your truck back, and your dog back.

“The road is a dangerous place man, you can die out here, or worse.”-Johnny Paycheck to me, Reno, 1980.

Isn't that the place where men get shot, just so the shooter can watch him die?

Garth Brooks killed it.

Johnny Cash song. It was metaphorical, not a real story. The biggest dangers in Vegas/Reno around 1980 were the drugs against your body and the crap table against your wallet.

Glen Campbell like to throw the dice while high. He played with $500 chips. We watched. He lost thousands in a short time, smiling the entire way.

That’s the perfect country song, the best is He Stopped Loving Her Today, and the most interesting is one of 3. Either the Conversation by Hank Jr and Waylon, The Ride by David Allen Coe or a fairly new one called Wait in the Truck by Hardy and Lainey Wilson.
