What we will most likely see is the rebel forces viciously crushed by the Islamic government. Just like the last several times. Civil wars overturn a government very rarely and the rebels almost always require outside aid and sanctuaries to prevail. Are they getting that?
Israel is surely providing some assistance. It is not clear if the USA is providing anything of substance or anything that is effective. The outcome of the Iranian civil conflict will depend on that.
And we are distracted by our own civil conflict which could go to a hot civil war if things break wrong.
