If other people are paying for it, yes, it should be inexpensive and nutritious foods only. I’d go right back to the government cheese, beans, rice, etc.

If you want to start a nonprofit to provide luxury, unhealthy food to poor, you should feel free to do that, however.

I would caution you to be less “uncharitable”. Life has a way of evening things out and leveling the scales... and you may find yourself, at some point, having to rely on only “government cheese, beans, rice” some day.

And keep in mind that a lot of folks on SNAP are elderly, poverty-level “ex-taxpayers”. People that have paid into the system plenty their whole lives, but have fallen on hard times, through no fault of their own, including health issues. If those folks were only able to get “government cheese, beans and rice”... it would be a death sentence to their already compromised immune systems.

That said, I have no problem with the ‘soda/candy’ ban part. It’s the precedent of control that it sets for “government ghouls” that I take issue with.
