“surrounded with “green belts” of combustible vegetation with which to get that city burning” what are you talking about then. It sounds like you are saying what I described.
OK, I’ll upload a couple of photos of what I’m talking about. These were upper-end suburban developments surrounded with forests that survived the fire. Once the first house started, the mandated construction materials induced a chain reaction fire. Literally, one block of houses I photographed had a fairway on one side and a wide street on the other. The whole thing burned because of the ferocity of the fire blowing through pines that survived it.
