Discover the untold story of how 371,683 German POWs experienced a psychological transformation that shattered N@zi ideology through witnessing America's overwhelming industrial might during World War II. When Afrika Korps veterans arrived in the United States in 1943, expecting to find a weak, divided nation, they instead encountered an industrial colossus producing a B-24 bomber every 63 minutes, farms larger than German provinces, and ordinary workers living better than German aristocracy. This meticulously researched documentary reveals how German prisoners of war, housed in over 500 camps across America from 1943-1946, went from hardened N@zi soldiers to advocates for democracy - not through propaganda, but through the undeniable evidence of American abundance. From the shock of seeing illuminated cities during wartime blackouts to witnessing factories that produced more in a day than Germany managed in months, these POWs experienced firsthand why America was called the "Arsenal of Democracy." Based on declassified documents, prisoner diaries, and firsthand accounts, this video explores one of World War II's most successful but forgotten reeducation programs, where America's greatest victory wasn't won on battlefields but in prison camps, transforming enemies into future allies who would help rebuild democratic Germany. Learn how former POWs like Walter Hallstein became European leaders, why only 0.6% attempted escape, and how American humanity toward enemies proved more powerful than any weapon in defeating N@zi ideology.

Feel good video of the year!
This was already posted today, but I included a bit more of the written description.
It deserves wide dissemination!
i’m 30 minutes in and its terrific!!!
Should have arrived in 2020 lol.
True story- the father of my father in law was in Mussolini’s army in WWII....they were in Sicily as the war was ending hiding in the hills....
My father in law said when they saw American boats making their way towards the coast they ran out and said, “take us!!! please take us!!!”
He later reflected that right then he knew Germany could never defeat an enemy with those kinds of resources. He knew Germany was going to lose.
The newspaper of record in Santa Rosa, CA, used to do a lot of write-ups about the “whatever-happened-to” the German and Italian POWs who were put to work on farms and ranches in Sonoma County. The overwhelming gist of the stories was very much in line with this video. These were young men who, for the most part, fell in love with California and became good friends with the locals. They would come back to visit often and would host their American friends when they visited Germany/Italy.
The whole thing is very much evidence for why Trump is 1000% right about trying to stop/prevent wars. The young men fighting for the Axis in WW2 were not inherently evil people. They were just people caught up in an insane situation.
