It also looked like the guy backing up(and why back up? why not face down the driveway and walk out?) short-stepped(or brake-checked) a couple of times to help cause contact.
Both are\were bad actors and each have their own demons to deal with.
The Guy was walking backward because he could see that the psychopathic cop had a firearm in his right hand and he wanted to keep his eyes on him.
