"Microsoft is using engineers in China to help maintain the Defense Department’s computer systems — with minimal supervision by U.S. personnel — leaving some of the nation’s most sensitive data vulnerable to hacking from its leading cyber adversary, a ProPublica investigation has found.
The arrangement, which was critical to Microsoft winning the federal government’s cloud computing business a decade ago, relies on U.S. citizens with security clearances to oversee the work and serve as a barrier against espionage and sabotage.

“If I were an operative, I would look at that as an avenue for extremely valuable access. We need to be very concerned about that,” said Harry Coker, who was a senior executive at the CIA and the National Security Agency. Coker, who also was national cyber director during the Biden administration, added that he and his former intelligence community colleagues “would love to have had access like that.”

Mint Linux is great.. I tried several Linux OSes going back 30 years, but Mint was the first one that I felt comfortable with. And I have stuck with it for about 15 years.
For every day tasks like Email, Web browsing, basic “Office” type stuff, music and videos etc, you won’t notice much difference between it and Windows, with the stuff that is built into it.
Adding new programs can be a little more hassle than Windows programs, especially if they aren’t in the Mint Repositories, but there are dozens if not hundreds of online help tutorials to guide you on how to install just about anything not in the repository.
Exactly!
And we thought we were rid of him...
They probably designed the F-35’s ground sensor.
And the Trumpster is going allow 600,000 chicom students to come into the US, bad move.
Yes, thanks. I had mint up and running on a refurb dell for awhile...did not find much problem, except with dell power system.
Maybe will be spying on the spies
I think that's a lie but I guess they caved. And, anyway, 300,000 is still more than the current number and is way too high.
Agree!
Given that China requires citizens that receive a foreign visa to spy, one is too many. China’s right to US entry should be suspended until they understand requiring their citizens to commit espionage in the US is a showstopper!
Kicked Windows and every other piece of Microsoft software out of my home over 10 years ago. Ubuntu Linux w/free open source software is all I use now.
Not one thin dime for Microsoft from me. Ever.
Best part: I make my Linux machines all look like Mac desktops with themese, icons sets and shells. "Poor man's Mac" I call it and it works just fine for me.
Indeed.
I had two identical Dell laptops, and both had early power system failures (I believe intentional by the designers) and also both had similar early keyboard failures.
