I’ve seen some videos on YouTube claiming that 3I/ATLAS is changing direction and coming our way. Ridiculous, of course. YouTube is turning into the Weekly World News. Too many charlatans out there looking to make some money off of others’ gullibility. The sad fact is people actually watch this stuff.

If it ever DOES change direction and head for us, I’m sure everyone will be broadcasting it.

I’ve seen some videos on YouTube claiming that 3I/ATLAS is changing direction and coming our way.

The object is not approaching earth and will never come anywhere near earth.

In fact, 3I/ATLAS is not in the same orbital plane of any planets and is unlikely to interact with them. Outgassing may change the course of this object from a pure ballistic trajectory, but NASA estimates the expected nearest approach to planets as follows:

• Earth: 167 million miles
• Mars: 17 million miles
• Jupiter: 33 million miles

I3 Atlas has not changed directions - if it does it will do so when it passes behind the Sun. When it emerges [ if it has changed directions ], no one will see it, as it will be in the sun and ‘invisible’, until it passes through Earth, shattering it into random rocks.

So sit back and learn new things.
