So the push was on to deny and degrade nationalism as dangerous and not progressive...
It leads to the current insane result.
These ideas were pushed, for example, in “Brave New World”.

Some FReeper (I forget who) recently made an interesting comment. He said the UK is pretending it’s still a great, multi-ethnic empire.
And part of that fantasy is allowing all sorts of people into the country.
I suppose this might be a partial explanation. But those Brits who buy into that fantasy are missing one thing. The newcomers have zero allegiance to the crown. They come to take, and eventually conquer.

It was that"intense passion" that gave the people the strength and will to fight back. Of course, that is the last thing that these pale shades of tyrants past would want.
