Not surprised. Improper reporting happen in lots of places to make the statistics look better. Good of the president to take this on.

Doctored medical report?
Thats like during the wuflu scam the local funeral home received a body for service. The funeral home zipped open the body bag and the body had a bullet wound to the head. They contacted the medical examiner and he responded that cause of death was suicide WITH covid.
That last part, with covid, resulted in the county receiving hundreds of dollars from the feds.

I was a probation officer for 45 years. Each year I filled out a census report on court statistics. We were often had to hand count the crimes and sentences. When the numbers were exactly known, I could give an estimate with notation. The census approved it. That is how the crime statistics are fudged. Once, a citizen reported someone littering from a car. Turned out it was bank robbers throwing out the money bands. The police were at their house when they arrived home. We don’t put up with shit in small towns.

Me either. That's deliberate misreporting to cover up real crime statistics. I saw it first hand when I worked in NY State's prison system. Albany told facility heads that had a lot of misbehavior reports to lower the level. So they started throwing out tickets that officer's had written, or lowering the Tier Level of the charges, just so the prison would look better to Albany. And forget about punishment. That was 22 years ago when I retired. I can't imagine how bad it is now.

That's the problem with politically appointed jobs. Those that are appointed dance to the tune of those over them. They don't appoint people to those non-Civil Service positions that they know will buck them, and support the line personnel below them. I know first hand. I was a Sergeant. I supported and looked out for my officers. And the Administrators hated me for it. They tried to get rid of me because of it, but I prevailed.
