On Sunday, August 24th, Ukraine’s Independence Day, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the existence of the Druzhba (Friendship) oil pipeline, just like the political friendship between Ukraine and Hungary, is now directly tied to Budapest’s position.
During a press conference, a journalist asked if after the strikes on the Druzhba oil pipeline and appeals to U.S. President Donald Trump Ukraine had gained additional leverage over Hungary, especially in terms of the lifting of Budapest’s veto on opening EU accession negotiation clusters.
Zelenskyy responded by saying that Ukraine has always supported friendship between the two countries, but its further existence now depends on Hungary’s position.

On Sunday evening, Slovakia’s Foreign Minister Juraj Blanár said in an interview that keeping Russian oil imports is in the national interest of his country, adding that Ukraine’s attacks on Druzhba could also cut fuel supplies to Kyiv.
The minister highlighted that 10% of Ukraine’s diesel supply arrives through Slovakia, mostly from Russian oil refined in Slovakia. Hungary last week warned Ukraine that electricity supplies could easily be cut from Hungary. Ukraine imports 40% of its electricity from Hungary.
40% is a lot of electricity supplied to YouCrayne.

Hard to the believe that the Neocons had Zelensky do this stunt. I wonder if the Neocons have considered the following:
1. Hungary still has its military equipment intact.
2. Hungary borders Ukraine.
3. Hungary is not happy with the Hungarians are treated in Ukraine, basically like Russians.
4. The rest of NATO no longer has any military assets to speak of (they’ve all been ‘disposed of’ in Ukraine).
5. There is no assurance that Trump will bomb Hungary if they move into the Hungarian areas in Western Ukraine.
Things are now starting to get interesting!

Only if Z gives away Ukrainian real estate by signing a peace arrangement on Russian terms. If he does that, he’ll be in the crosshairs of Ukrainian nationalists & won’t be around long.

Right now, both sides are “stuck on stubborn.”
