I live in Memphis. I stopped going to movie theater venues in 2012. I'm not stupid.
I apply the Amish society rule, to shun the community members I am forced to coexist with. I make no eye contact. I do not conduct my business in places they exist. It can be done with very little inconvenience.
You are responsible for your own personal safety. Make your planned activities and choices accordingly.

Last time I was in a theater was for TOP GUN: MAVERICK. I certainly would not attend any midnight showings in an urban area.

I worked at a movie theatre in my younger days, one day we had a problem with a group of rowdy black girls disrupting the movie. The manager and I rousted them to the outside of the theatre, No Refund given. A half hour later a Irate father of one of the girls came storming into the office demanding a refund , he was scary but when the manager stood up and he got a gander of the pistol on his belt he calmed right down and apologized for the girls behavior as he backed out of the office.
