if a White person looks at a black person with the side-eye, then it is a hate crime and they are buried underneath the jail. But something like this happens, and the police suddenly become like the Keystone cops, and they are bewildered and befuddled, and they can’t think of any motive and obviously the perpetrator went momentarily insane or something. Or maybe they have complicating circumstances from a disadvantage upbringing or some nonsense like that. If race is brought into the case at all, it’s because the perpetrator experienced racism and lashed out or something and that’s OK. Maybe the toddler used the N-word. /sarc
