United Kingdom Prime Minister Keir Starmer said that United States President Donald Trump's efforts have "brought us closer than ever before" to ending the war in Ukraine.
Starmer emphasized that the next steps must include talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, noting that peace cannot be decided without his involvement. The British prime minsiter also confirmed that he spoke with Zelensky, Trump and European partners on Saturday, noting that all parties are ready to support the next phase.
Starmer also pledged continued sanctions against Russia until it ends it military operation.

I continue to be amazed by Starmer‘s pompous behavior. The UK is a second-tier nation that’s rapidly sliding into third-tier status. Yet Starmer behaves as if it’s still 1880, and what Britain’s prime minister says matters.
(No disrespect meant to the average Brit. Just stop voting for Labour and things might improve.)
Starmer trying to maneuver himself in a position to steal credit from Trump if the deal works.

One of the things I speculated that it could trigger something in the Balkans, it doesn’t take much to get things going there. And right now there are riots in Serbia.
