Why is a huge country like Russia so intent on a tiny strip of land ? Is it just because of minerals ? Or for a face saving so as not to retreat empty handed ?

What was the Cuban Missile Crisis all about?

Why was a huge country like America so intent on a tiny strip of land?

The president never said this. The media is full of crap. They like people dying and war and they hate Trump working for success.

Putin won’t stop until he has the Donbas.
Not agreeing with Putin - just my opinion.
In spite of Trumps rhetoric- the situation looks the same to me.
Thousands killed and wounded every week.
The Russians advancing at a snail’s pace.
The Euros will provide enough weaponry bought from us to keep the war going.
and everybody happy.
JD will continue to talk tough about no more support for the Ukes - but it’s bs.
Remember Trump saying he would end the war in one day?

I agree. Putin met with Trump because he's trying to buy time.

At this rate, Russia will take all of the Donbas in five years from now.

Exactly
Ukes intended to join NATO n had NATO blessings to request joining.
NATO via Ukes wanted to put missiles on Putin’s front porch.
Direct correlation to JFK risking WW3 when USSR tried putting missiles on US front porch

Then, the war will continue until Ukraine loses everything east of the Dnieper river and, probably, Odessa.

What about that don't understand?

You apparently are ignorant the fact that Ukrainian military is critically low on manpower.

You live in a fantasy world.

You have it ass backward.

Trump met with Putin to find an off ramp to this war and end it because Ukraine's military is critical low on troops and is the verge of giving up huge chucks of territory.

Ukraine has a very short period of time to avoid being in a situation of losing everything east of the Dnieper river.

I think though Putin understands that such a victory in Ukraine, in the end would be a Pyrrhic Victory. He would lose more than he actually would gain. Now it’s a matter of trying to extract himself, while appearing to win something.

Konrad Muzyka, of Poland who has visited the Ukraine frontlines several times speaking to the Polish news site Rzeczpospolita:

"It is worrying that Russia's territorial gains, especially in July, were quite significant and larger than in previous months. The Russians have advanced 10-12 km along several axes. This is something we haven't seen before. If there were any territorial conquests before, they were concentrated around one area. Now we have several areas where the front is starting to leak."

##

"[...] when it comes to the Ukrainian soldier, the biggest problem is that he's just... not there. And this is due to the fact that the scale of desertion and abandonment of units without consent is very high. This creates a dangerous situation: if you take into account the loss of soldiers on the front line, desertion and abandonment of units without consent, the number of soldiers on the Ukrainian side decreases month after month. Although officially the Ukrainians mobilize 20-30 thousand people every month, most of them do not get to the front line."

Going in to this meeting in Alaska, the EU ‘elites’ and Z were warning Trump would be (easily) manipulated by Putin. I guess they always knew Putin wasn’t going to give back all their land so how could they explain that was just a ruse to keep their unobtainable demands in place and the war in motion? It had to be ‘Trump’s fault’ but no one would believe he’s stupid, so they are going with ‘he’s easily manipulated.’ Frankly, I don’t find that any more believable than the false charge that he’s stupid. But that’s just me.

So now Z and the EU elites got nothing...and they like it? They’re supposedly optimistic that peace is near. After the talk with Trump, he exited the call and they continued their call to discuss what Trump had said. By going straight to peace, they skip EU/Z demands for ‘security guarantees’ from the President. ‘Security guarantees’ is all they’ve been talking about for a few years, and now they’re not getting those guarantees and they’re fine with that?

It’s all so ‘perfect’. He had a perfect call.....

I think President finally pulled the trigger and laid it out for them. The US will walk away if they don’t shut up and take this deal. No more humanitarian aid (maybe), no more supporting the Ukrainian economy, no more military aid. The longer the US supports the Ukraine, the longer it intends to fight. The US’s aid is not helping the Ukraine’s citizens; it’s being used by NATO to fund their proxy war.

NATO/Dems plotted this war, overthrew the Ukraine, built fortifications and war machine, taunted Putin with impending NATO membership, and have been attacking Putin in a proxy war he acknowledges. And now, Trump told them he will walk away if he hears one peep out of them, leaving them at the feet of Putin. The EU has only scraps of a military and now they will potentially be at Putin’s feet, naked and afraid.

So, no more aid. It also seems that the ‘deal’ requires the EU elites and Z not to complain about it in public. The MSM can carry all the elites’ talking points but it looks like they themselves have to shut up and talk peace.

That’s my guess - why else would they all ‘get nothing and like it’?

At this rate you’ll take that land sometime in 2057.

And it’ll only cost you another 500,000 troops.

Not that you care.
