Exactly, he has no reason to let large dogs attach him, but if they were small yppie dogs, then no reason to shoot.

Not completely. If the dogs not on leashes had not been inoculated, then they could spread rabies, leptospirosis, ringworm, salmonella and toxoplasma, besides getting infections from bites and scratches. All of these could be on what appears to be a healthy dog.

It isn’t the dogs’ fault. It is the fault of the owner that didn’t have control of the animals in a public setting where human and dog are capable of conflict. They should have been leashed and there’s no way for the man to know their shots were up to date. He was protecting himself.

So many irresponsible dog owners. Such a pity, dogs deserve to be loved and that includes training.

A friend had a beautiful boxer puppy, did not train her. She was not on a leash; ran off; did not respond to instructions (why should she?), ran in front of a truck and was killed.
