I’m not keeping up with the Mamdani phenomenon. Why does he appeal to enough NYC voters that he might win? What does he want to do to NYC?

It's ironic that Mamdani and his leftist ilk are constantly referring to President Trump as a dictator.  Yet, the only way Zohran's proposals - tax increases, rent freezes, fare-free public transportation, etc. - would see the light of day would be if Mamdami governed like .. a dictator.

The NYC City Council is far left, but I don't think they're that far left to enact some of these things legislatively.
