The EU consumes about 460 billion cubic meters of natural gas each year.

Last year the US provided 63 billion cubic meters of LNG (measured in weight, with a conversion to cubic meters). Russia provided 16 billion cubic meters to Europe via LNG, an all time LNG-to-Europe record for Russia. (they didn’t do that for free).

Norway provided about 130 billion cubic meters to Europe.

And if you examine those numbers carefully, you will see the desperation they face. There is no natgas in Europe anymore. There was some in the Netherlands, drained. Norway is on the way to empty, too.

You can’t refuse to breathe air that comes from somewhere you don’t like.
