Azerbaijan is backed by Turkey, and I seriously doubt that the Russian military wants to battle the Turks.
Azerbaijan was also backed by Russia, until this year when they really angered Azerbaijan. They’ve pushed Azerbaijan and Armenia together.
But Turkey and Russia won’t get in a fight, because they need each other economically too much.
