The perp "has a criminal history in Texas".

Looks like Texas forgot to fire up "Ol' Sparky" for this one. This is why capital punishment needs to be sure and swift. No appeals.

President Trump should create a "rocket docket" for death penalty cases. We've got to get the show on the road.

In too many places, a perp who commits a serious crime gets charged with a lesser crime. Then he takes a plea and gets very little jail time. The next thing you know, he’s back on the streets again.

I wonder if that happened with this guy.

Kidnapping was a big crime in the 1920s and 1930 until Congress made it a Federal crime.

One famous case was the Lindbergh baby kidnapping.

The jury deliberates for 12 hours and returns with a first-degree murder conviction. Hauptmann is sentenced to die in March. Defense team promises appeals.

Hauptmann’s original execution date was set for the week of March 18, 1935. He was transferred to the state penitentiary in Trenton three days after the verdict, where he lived in a ten-by-eight foot cell on death row. After his appeals were denied, and other attempts to prove his innocence failed, Hauptmann was executed via the electric chair on April 3, 1936.

About 15 months from conviction to execution.

How many guys on Military death row got executed his first term? How many so far this term?

He's done a lot of great things, but getting folks in gear on the death penalty certainly isn't one of his accomplishments.

It’s Austin, it has a soft on crime D.A. and police department. It’s surprising that they caught the guy.

After what we’re discovering about the federal government agencies and how they lie to the people, you trust them enough to insist on no appeals? Granted the current process is broken when murdurers aren’t executed until 25-35 years have passed, but no appeals? I don’t trust government agencies or soros-bought or nifong-type persecutors to support that.
