Eyesore of the month ping
I like it. Bold architecture is always mocked initially.
And there is no “Jolliet” Illinois. The article loses total credibility when the author compare it to somewhere they’re obviously NOT familiar enough to spell it correctly: Joliet.
Meh I kinda like it, espedially,the look, at night.
Reminds me a little of the Edward hopper painting I think k it was of diners sitting in a diner, lonely scene, I’ll see if I can find it.
Why all the snark? I think it’s kinda cool with a “Jetsons” vibe. Just a futuristic concept of the all-stainless Airstream-esq diners of the ‘50s. If they make a decent burger it’s all good.
Too bad it attracts ugly cars and trucks.

As a diner?
I actually kind of like it.
It has personality.
Which is more then you can say for the square dull gray boxes that are currently in vogue.
When I was in Los Angeles last year, the hotel I stayed at is not far from this area, so I can attest to the condition that the nearby area on Santa Monica is in, lol. I went to the Mel’s (inspired by the movie American Graffiti) on Sunset Blvd and that’s about a block away from where I was.
Santa Monica Blvd? That’s soooo gay...
I’d rather look at that than the vast homeless encampments, tent cities set up on public sidewalks, broken down cars and motorhomes that line the streets of Santa Monica and the ensuing mountains of trash, needles and filth in public spaces.
Looks like the only draw it received was the great American Graffiti movie on the screen.
who cares what it looks like as long as it’s clean and has good burgers for a reasonable price ... still if that pic of the neighborhood is accurate, it might give one pause ...
