Trump could be reeling Putin into a negotiation that, despite Putin’s best efforts as a thuggish dictator and an inveterate liar on the world stage, and however long it might take within the context of Trump’s second term, might eventually either tame “The Bear”, or begin moving it in that direction. As in, objectively speaking (not just a Putin headfake).
