Harvard has a $50 billion endowment. Maybe use some of it for research and if something is invented, Harvard can claim the patent.
That will give all the DEI Harvies more time to protest and riot for their Muzzie Massas and Hamas.
Don’t care and don’t believe.
Most research now seems to be pointless made up political narrative creators and little or nothing to do with real discovery.
Most cannot even be reproduced anymore and the entire peer review process is a self feeding joke.
So ya, kill it, freeze it, whatever. We need a reset and this is a good way to bring it about.

When I was a graduate student part of my funding came from NSF and part from NIH. So I was reading lots of NIH literature. The estimates in the early 90s, by the NIH, were that more than 50% of medical research results were made up (and therefore substantially more than 50% could never be replicated). That was the early 90s. No one believes it hasn’t gotten worse.
we will never figure out why lesbians are overweight!
“Harvard is the bad guy here. Any argument to the contrary is false.”
You’re right, Harvard retained 70% of the scientific grant money, leaving the scientist only 30% for the actual research. They are the ones who held back science for decades because of greed.
What a bunch of DEI-loaded crap - let them pay for it!
Libturds always tell us “oh, it’s only a little bit from each person” by “person” of course, they mean WAGE-EARNER, TAXPAYER.
But once a reasonable, thinking person starts adding up all those “little bits” the wage-earner, much like a prisoner of the Chirikawa Apache Indians tied over an anthill, is pretty much eaten alive when the accounting’s done.
It is NOT the responsibility - Constitutionally, social contract-wise or otherwise - of the average taxpayer to fund “research,” especially at a PRIVATE institution such as HAH-vud which has, allegedly, 50 to 75 BILLION dollars in PRIVATE non-taxable endowment funds.
They, like the Corporation for “Public” Broadcasting, should sell advertising or something of VALUE in the FREE MARKET our country was founded upon, not come to the pubic trough like so many beggars, or unwanted ants at a picnic.
IOW, F**k HAH-vud and the horse they rode in on.
set back? Wouldn’t that mean it would go backwards, how do you undo what you have learned?
How many billions does Harvard have in endowments? Exactly what does the American taxpayer get back from funding these research projects, the successful one not the BS ones? Do we get a share of any profits returned to the treasury, or just a F’k off when it’s all said and done?
Every single research report I’ve read ALWAYS has the exact same conclusion and recommendations: “This is important work and more funding for more research is required.”
I see so few study write ups from Harvard on Medical Xpress that I don’t think the world gets anything useful from it, so shut the university off from every bit of funding.
$50 billion???
They could survive on the interest!
“Any argument to the contrary is false.”
Agreed!
These and the rest are just highly paid Welfare recipients!
Research is important and some of it should be eligible for public funding but an university like Harvard can pony up some of their enormous endowments in times of cutbacks. They need to stop crying poverty. Cut some of your own useless DEI classes and hires and magically the hit won’t be that bad.
I’m part of the ‘Million Veteran Study’ that the VA is conducting.

I’m also in their Breast Cancer and Colon Cancer Control Groups. It’s the least I can do for myself and my fellow Veterans.
Harvard is just duplicating our efforts, so they can relax. We’ve got this. ;)
