I'm sure everyone here has noticed how many of our freedoms have been taken from us, then sold back to us in the form of permits.

Tourists are not local voters, so . . .
That said, my main issue with these stupid taxes is not even the costs. It’s the hassle of find where and how to pay them. Or that you need to pay them.
Oregon Demonicrats need to be taxed on the oxygen they steal.
California will be next - in fact, I’m surprised California wasn’t the first to tax bicycles and paddle boards.
They’re becoming desperate to tax everything - as their tax base flees- due to overtaxation.
It’s Oregon! How about skate boards and bicycles? They used the streets, why are they not required to license and register like everyone else?
This is a perfect example of the local fiefdoms attempting to shakedown the people for more money, to ensure their fat gold plated government pensions remain fat and intact.
I remember decades ago friends moving there and complaining about the “rain tax”. You paid a tax for every square foot of non-soil on your property.
