AE married a sugar daddy, which allowed her to develop her flying hobby, used a political connection to get a pit stop for her trip built, but, on balance, wasn’t a very thorough planner or particularly deep thinker.

Range would be the issue, then, I suspect. Most seaplanes had (have) a lot of drag and bad fuel economy. There were some exceptions (Boeing 314; not sure it was around when she flew, think it was a couple years later).
But an inflatable dingy, sunscreen, and 5 gallons of water would have been advisable.
