You genuinely think that the human propensity for gambling has sudden evaporated after millenia of evidence showing we’re hardwired for it?
Not being one thus hardwired, I defer to your knowledge in the area. As a reader of Swain’s books, I find it fascinating that people persist in the quixotic endeavor, maybe even knowing the odds against them. Then again, maybe they consider it fair exchange for the other perks of being sheared, like shows, lights, food, mass shootings and so on.
