Just a bit crazy, but what would happen if Trump demanded CASH from the banks that are closing his accounts? Could the banks come up with the cash? What kind of hardship would it place on the banks?
I believe if you have an account and they debank you they send you a check for the full amount.
It wasn’t just President Trump. The AGs of 15 states sent a letter to BOA who was the biggest offender. They were debanking conservatives and Christian groups- there’s a thread on it here at FR.
When asked for comment the CEO of BOA said “we don’t discriminate on the basis of religion” but said nothing about politics.
My HSA plan through my employer is held by BOA. They had a conference call a year ago pimping their products. You were allowed to submit questions via chat.
I put together a great question using the article and letter sent by the AGs demanding a guarantee I would not have my HSA debanked. I submitted the question 3x- they refused to answer
In the end they did nothing though at that point I think they were feeling the heat and intimidated
