A Connecticut State Police trooper who went viral for chasing a YouTube activist off his property while carrying a gun and spitting in his face will retire, officials said.
Connecticut State Police say Sgt. Bryan Fahey is scheduled to retire Friday.
Fahey's retirement comes about two weeks after Groton police arrested the 34-year-old YouTuber, SeanPaul Reyes, and his 20-year-old cameraman, Tahiem Glover. The pair were arrested after confronting Fahey at his home in Groton to confront him over what they considered to be an excessive amount of overtime.
In the days following the incident, state police officials said Fahey remained on active duty. On Thursday, they indicated his plans to retire.
In an email on Thursday night, Reyes said Fahey "spit in my face, but now the State of Connecticut is spitting in the taxpayers’ faces by giving him a golden parachute after violating constitutional rights and committing crimes on camera for the world to see.

Well, I guess it was close to $100,000 in overtime. The last few years his OT was in the $70,000, $80,000, and over $90,000.
No wonder he didn’t want anyone snooping around him or his records.
Did he at least yell “Get off my lawn!”?
Thousands and thousands saw right through this nutcase too.
Well, except here on FR.

Well such is life. The earth is still spinning and will
as people continue thru life. Enjoy your allotted 70.
These First Amendment Auditors are nothing a**holes trying to stir up trouble. They are itching for a conflict for more clicks and more views. Go looking for trouble you are going to find it.
It was wrong to confront him on his own property. It’s a form of doxxing.
Confronting city counsel and the chief of police is the correct method of dealing with budget and payroll abuse.
But that doesn’t get you a viral video for adclick revenue.
The boot lickers here are fans of cops like this crazy nut. No surprise.
___It was wrong to confront him on his own property. It’s a form of doxxing.____
Jouralists do it all the time. 60 minutes made a living out of doing it. And it’s no crime. Get outta here.
The police were just doing their jobs: following standard procedure. There is no record of any policeman violating any citizen.
I saw the video. It can be argued that the YouTube guy was being provocative.
I suppose that’s true. But a police officer needs to behave professionally at all times. It’s part of the job description. So I’m assigning 2/3 of the blame for this mess to him.
Your mileage may vary.
The world has changed and the internet has energized and validated the mentally ill in ways beyond the imagination of most. And we don’t keep them locked up anymore so they are completely free to act on any delusional animus.
There are thousands of Luigi Mangiones waiting for their 15 minutes.
Once they are called out in Court, to be simple leeches and provocateurs, NOT Journalists in the sense of Reporting facts, without foul language, harassment, taunting, and false claims, this silliness will end.
MOST are criminals with a history, no jobs, and NOT the type you want to live near.
Remember the old ‘60 Minutes’ bits?
Maybe he could join the caddying crew up here:

Do you mean the SNL spoofs? Or actual 60 minutes fake news, because there were a lot of both.
I meant the ones with the reporter on camera, chasing the misbehaving fatcat into his house.
That was before the delulu peeps created their own spaces on the internet.
The internet has weaponized a lot of crazy people and they have found and validated and reinforced each other’s delusions.
Also, you couldn’t find people’s homes using Google maps streetview to match up what you saw on TV.
Doxxing anyone in today’s strange new virtual world is wrong, it’s just a less effective but still dangerous method of swatting.
Let me just add that 60 minutes needs to knock it off now as well. Do people still watch it, is it still on air? Only watched by people over 70 who are mostly less dangerous than newly minted schizos in their early 20’s?
But pretending it’s okay for influencers to do it because 60 minutes also does it is rationalizing. They are both endangering others for ad revenue. They both need a new schtick.
“YouTubers” sound like something planted in the ground ...

How much BS has that arsehole spread around?
Guaran-damn-tee there are loads of “situations” in his past that the Thin Blue Line covered up.
