Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev blamed NATO's "anti-Russian" policy on Monday for Russia's formal withdrawal from its moratorium on deploying medium- and short-range missiles.

"This is a new reality all our opponents will have to reckon with," Medvedev wrote on X, warning, "Expect further steps." His remarks followed a formal declaration by the Russian Foreign Ministry, confirming the end of the moratorium and suggesting more aggressive deployments may follow.

“Medvedev threatens ‘further steps’ as missile ban ends”

The Neocons never liked that treaty. In fact they HATED Reagan for negotiating it (they hated Reagan as it was, anyway).

...but the Neocons got their way and so it’s back to Launch on Warning.

Trump isn’t getting involved. Short and Medium range missiles are the EU’s problem. Hope they paid up what Trump told them to.

As an aside, how do we know all of Ukraine’s nukes have been destroyed?

They are a NATO problem, and the U.S. is part of NATO.

When were the Reagan years and when did we first hear the idiotic word “neocon”? It’s all mixed up in your tiny brain, genius.

The half wits common on Free Republic like to use “Neo-Con” as a general purpose slur to silence anyone proposing using US military or economic power. Reagan wasn’t a dove or isolationist which they ignore.

Great. We could provide logistical support, but no troops on the ground. Trump will not be sucked into WW3. Europe is strong enough to take on Russia without the US military.

If they all go nuclear and nuclear war becomes the final answer that replaces conventional war, then it will be easier to sell the U.S. conventual capabilities pulling out of NATO as the primary force keeping Russia from devouring Europe again.
