Mine too!!!
The Story of Joseph shows that we CAN forgive, but the people who have sinned against us really need to have insight into the damage and hurt they've caused. Joseph's actions teach his brothers what it's like to be in debt to another, to be falsely accused, to face death or a live of slavery, just like Joseph did. Sure enough, when faced with the fruits of their lies and subterfuge, the brothers do repent, even if it's out of fear.
Some offer themselves as hostages to save the life of their little brother Benjamin, others express fear that they will all be killed.
Still others finally realize the harm they did both to Joseph and their father Jacob (who never got over Joseph's “death”).
A half-assed, non-apology “apology”, laden with excuses, blame-shifting, and rationalization, is not an apology at all, and yet, many of us still forgive, if only to keep the peace.
It's one of the most difficult aspects of our Faith, to forgive. Joseph is a shining example of what we can be if we walk in the Spirit.
