Probably since Jews were tolerated under Moorish rule.

The Moors ruled parts of spain from 711 to 1492. This possible synagogue is 1700 years old. That means the jews who built it in Spain predated the Moors by at least 350 years.
Secondarily, "tolerated" is a strong term. They were at best second class citizens (paying massive taxes/fines even for that) and not due any protections. The so-called "golden age of moorish rule" whitewashes and romanticizes that era. Leftists have completely changed how awful that time frame was for non-muslims.

Probably since Jews were tolerated under Moorish rule.

The first Moors did, but not the later ones, the more "religious" ones who defeated the Moors and took over Spain. They declared "Allah, or the sword," and beheaded any Jew who refused to convert, and burned hundreds of Jewish schools and synagogues to the ground. The most famous of all Jewish philosophers, Maimonides, and his family had to flee Spain for Morocco to escape them.
