Typical Hollyweird casting with a clipped hair queer in Corrin playing Elizabeth Bennett, the Bingleys are black., and to round it off every size is beautiful whale playing Kitty Bennett. "Pride, Prejudice, and Zombies" had a much better cast than this Netflix **** show for the "modern audience".

Just for the record the Colin Firth mini-series is the definitive version not the movie.

You do know there are other versions than just those three. The BBC did it at least in 1967 and 1980. And there was a movie with Greer Garson and Lawrence Olivier

I think the definitive version is reading the book.

By the way, Jane Austen was one of the two most ultraconservative fiction writers of all time.

Embarrassed to say that I’ve seen that numerous times. It is just too well done. Don’t tell anybody.

Yes I have seen the 1980 and Garson/Olivier version. The Garson version is weird because the setting is more Early Victorian than Regency. Aldous Huxley wrote the screenplay.

Netflix is pure poison.

Yeah. There were so many blacks around Jane Austen I’m sure she wanted to be diverse and inclusive in her storytelling. That was definitely a priority in 18th century British literature.

Yet another bit of “entertainment” that I will never waste my time watching.

I love Jane Austen. About 20 years ago, I read all of her books.

I am completely surprised that the characters aren’t black or purple haired....that’s what I expected to see.
