Just for the record the Colin Firth mini-series is the definitive version not the movie.
You do know there are other versions than just those three. The BBC did it at least in 1967 and 1980. And there was a movie with Greer Garson and Lawrence Olivier
I think the definitive version is reading the book.
By the way, Jane Austen was one of the two most ultraconservative fiction writers of all time.
Embarrassed to say that I’ve seen that numerous times. It is just too well done. Don’t tell anybody.
Yes I have seen the 1980 and Garson/Olivier version. The Garson version is weird because the setting is more Early Victorian than Regency. Aldous Huxley wrote the screenplay.
No. Just no.
Netflix is pure poison.
Yeah. There were so many blacks around Jane Austen I’m sure she wanted to be diverse and inclusive in her storytelling. That was definitely a priority in 18th century British literature.
A lot of their crap is grimier Hallmark tripe...not to mention stupid and insulting...
100%
Yet another bit of “entertainment” that I will never waste my time watching.
I love Jane Austen. About 20 years ago, I read all of her books.
i always thought
Sense and Sensibility was a better story
BTTT
I am completely surprised that the characters aren’t black or purple haired....that’s what I expected to see.
“I am completely surprised that the characters aren’t black “
Did you see all the pics?
tell me you’re kidding
I thought Nicklaus Cage was going to get that role.
