Good for them. Since Canada went over to the darkside in this area, I assumed the U.K. had as well.
As an American who has spent the bulk of my adult life in Canada, I can vouch that the metric units are largely useless. The meter and yard are about equally useful, but the rest of the metric length units are either too big or too small.
The litre is about as useful as a quart, but all of the rest of the metric volume units stink.
And while the kilogram is the best of the metric units for weight, it is not nearly as useful as a pound—and an ounce is infinitely preferable to a gram.
