Although I did just get pulled over in Texas for not having a front plate. Had to argue with the guy that New Mexico (where I garage the truck) doesn’t have front plates.
He was also pissed his automatic plate reader couldn’t read my plate and was convinced I did something to it. No, it’s just yellow with orange numbers (low contrast), which is what New Mexico issues!
(No ticket, eventually, after he googled New Mexico not having a front plate with his phone.)
DPS, go figure.
