They are not the sole owners, increasing money supply by the Federal Reserve to bail out Congress spending, supply side ( shortages) inflation , a dropping USD index all contribute.
In short, the U.S. is in a debt trap….dollar debasement…all currencies eventually go to zero ( 4,000 in history )….the US is no different.
