“If Russia hasn’t been able to conquer Ukraine in the past three years, they weren’t going to be able to do it in 50 days.”
You haven’t been following things in the past week, I see.
Some items:
1) Casualty numbers are unknown. You can find 15 zillion different sources and quotes of numbers for them, but none of them are impartial.
2) The border and line length of combat is enormous. Troop concentration in any one place must necessarily be low.
3) To my surprise and the surprise of many, oil consumption by Ukraine has not spiked during the war. It has declined. It was already in decline for many years prior to 2022, but it is clear that war did not increase fuel burn. All those tanks and planes and trucks do not offset the population that fled elsewhere.
4) Russian perspectives get nearly no coverage in the western media. I suspect the reverse is true, too, but we should be able to search RT and TASS and get some feel for what the Russian populace hears of western MSM bias.
