It’s *not* a fusion reactor. It’s a fission reactor. Hot neutrons that are a product of the fission reaction fuse with Hg nuclei - that’s the fusion part.
Why not just do it and cash in?
Looks like Hg197 decays naturally...

I'M IN!!!! WHERE DO I SEND MY INVESTMENT?!?!?!?!
Thank you for the correction.
I assumed there were 12 Troy ounces per pound. It turns out this is correct for a Troy pound, which is much less than a standard pound!
Troy weight can be confusing (as is evident whenever there’s a thread on FR having to do with quantities of gold or other precious metals). The basic weight unit for both troy and avoirdupois systems is the grain, same grain for both. A troy ounce is 480 grains, but an avoirdupois ounce is only 437.5 grains. A troy pound, though, is 5,760 grains compared to 7,000 grains in an avoirdupois pound. Pretty much nobody uses troy pounds these days anyway.
.oads of mercury in streams where gold rushes took place. Gonna be a mu4cury rush now lol
” high-energy neutrons from a fusion reactor to bombard mercury-198”
the “catch” here is building a fusion reactor ... if one could actually do that, then making gold would be irrelevant because generating cheap, limitless energy would be far more valuable ...
According to Grok, it would currently cost about $217,000/gram to convert mercury into gold. Not feasible, if you are intending to set up a power plant for this purpose because gold is worth only about $80/gram
Ya but you make it up in bulk lol
They shorted gold a day before the announcement. Ha.
The whole fusion thing is a distraction. They’re using phlogiston. :)
Hold muh wizard hat.
There are probably lots of agents in Nigeria, who could take your investment. 🤪
