I'm not an expert mind you but somehow the idea you're going to stop an animal that can weigh as much as 1,500 pounds and can run at a top speed of 35 mph for at least 200 to 300 with a can of pepper spray seems pretty ludicrous. I would think one would prefer something on the order of a Barrett .50 caliber.

You can’t carry a Barrett .50 caliber or any other firearm in most of Canada, where this happened. Since that is the case, I think they should close the trails in grizzly country to hikers/bikers unless they are in a large group for the sake of safety...
