Fist, thank you for addressing the problem. A trained dog will be a happy dog. I suggest finding a trainer that uses an electronic training collar. They work and they do not Shock the animal. I have a Rottweiler/Wolf Hound mix. I am able to play with him off-leash and even walk him off-leash. I do leash him when other dogs are around or other situations because I do not want to set him up for failure. You will also find that if you can finally walk him, a tired dog is a good dog.

I’ve long used my dog as a personal trainer for long hikes in the local National Forest.

Works well for both of us....
