The NFL plans to fine more than 100 players and roughly two dozen club employees who were found to be in violation of the NFL's Ticket Resale policy...Violators will be fined up to 2 times the face value of the tickets they resold...The league...said it will increase penalties for future offenses.

My guess is they resold them for way more than 2X. Cost of doing business.
I guess the NFL doesn’t want any competition when it comes to charging outrageous prices for tickets.

Exactly correct. When it was given to the players it was their property. Speaking of property that is what the NFL Owners consider the players, "just their property."

I have a team in my town and it’s been many years since they’ve gotten a dime of my hard earned money......and I don’t forsee that changing anytime soon.
People worship spectator sports way too much. I used to be like that but I believe I’ve been cured of that malady.
It’s why they call them fans. Fan is short for fanatic.
Sports fanatics are really boring people.
I am sure they do not engage in sports betting.....
