Russia has been compelled to bring in one million Indian workers to avert a complete breakdown of its workforce. Ever since the launch of the comprehensive war in Ukraine in February 2022, countless working-age Russians have been summoned for military service.

The armed forces are facing tremendous strain to locate fresh recruits for deployment to the battlefront as replacements for those who have been killed or wounded. Russia has endured massive personnel casualties throughout more than three-and-a-half years of savage combat.

The daily Russia-is-doomed post. The EU’S LGBT/socialist/open-borders nations are in worse shape, so let’s see some doom posts about them.

Maybe Putin can persuade Liz Warren to be one of the million—she can take a leave of absence from the Senate.

“Russian economy has grown significantly on import substitution.”

LOL! Supported by the war economy and robbing the state pension fund.

Between a rock and a hard place.

Stop the war and the economy collapses.

Continue the war and go broke.

You people really get uppity about people pointing out that Russia isn’t the greatest thing ever. I wonder why that is?

The highest figure of GDP coming to a military spending is 7%, according to Western experts. How is it a war economy?

“The highest figure of GDP coming to a military spending is 7%, according to Western experts. How is it a war economy?”

ROTFLMAO!

Twice that of U.S.

20% of workers work in the “defense” industry.

Deepening ties with North Korea, highlighted by Putin’s unusual visit to Pyongyang, is believed to be an effort to replenish Russia’s depleted arsenal. Reports on Russia’s increasing reliance on outdated weaponry pinpoint its struggles with meeting even domestic demand. Some military systems Russia uses in Ukraine have been criticized for their poor performance. Russia’s credibility has been questioned as it failed to live up to the promise of producing advanced military systems, such as the Su-75 “Checkmate” or MiG-35. The nation, once a major arms exporter, is now reportedly seeking to secretly buy back weapons from former customers as well as purchase second-hand Western machinery from China. Claims of successful import substitution are harder to maintain, given the evident struggles to implement it in sectors such as civilian aviation, where the delivery schedules are repeatedly shifted.

How is it a war economy?”

Russia’s war economy is driving short-term growth at the cost of long-term viability. The model depends on ever-increasing state spending, primarily directed at defence, while civilian needs and productive sectors of the economy are neglected. Inflation is high, investment is constrained and essential and productive services such as education, social security and healthcare are eroding. The government’s fiscal manoeuvring – cutting social transfers, drawing from reserves and borrowing domestically – can delay, but not resolve, these problems.
