If underqualified minorities are admitted to and graduated from most college programs, the amount of damage that is done is often subtle - a DEI minority who gets a degree in some worthless ethnicstudies program takes up the spot of someone more qualified and productive, but the resulting social and economic harm that's done can be hard hard to prove and quantify.
In contrast, churning out unqualified minority medical doctors has the potential to literally become a life or death problem with an immediate impact on the daily lives of just about everyone. Who in his right mind would trust a neurosurgeon with his life and limb when that surgeon got where he is thanks to DEI quotas?
