Wow. Nowadays, the news shows everything, including the moment the gunman gets shot down. The way Mexico is famous for doing.
Perhaps this is what most modern American news viewers want to see.

There was a time when shootings were shown in crime magazines and on news broadcasts.Then with the murder of Bobby Kennedy all of a sudden such scenes disappeared from the news. We who were raised back in the 1950s when crime tabloids had no problems showing such scenes may have hardened us to them. Not like the panty waists today who freak out even when a scene is pixled out.

I’m old enough to remember that news papers had pictures of crime scenes and accidents with uncovered bodies and all. But that was just a few years after WW II and Korea when pictures of the dead were common fair in the papers.
