Trump was left with no control over anything outside the range of his voice. I think he was told he could issue a few pardons, that he had to remain quiet and in the White House for till January 20th. In return, he would be allowed to leave and his kids wouldn’t be charged.
If he refused, the Pence would remove him in a formal 25th, Trump would respond that he was not disabled, and the Senate would remove him that same afternoon. And if he forced that route, he would be arrested at the White House for “insurrection”.

Pence was the ringleader. When the Billy Bush pussygate tape came out, he IMMEDIATELY conspired with Rinsed Preibus to dump Trump from the ticket and take over as the candidate.
Also in 2017, Pence flat out lied and got General Flynn dismissed and prosecuted. He thought Trump would be forced out in the first 90 days. He brought in McMaster and others who worked against Trump.
