This is why tariffs are necessary. Without tariffs, all US jobs would move to other countries that have cheaper wages.
The tariffs are to level the playing field.
About ten year ago I started checking tags on garments for where they were made. My goal was not to buy things made in CHINA.
I ended up buying a couple pairs of Wrangler jeans. I think at Target or Walmart.
They were made in Lesotho. Which, honestly, I had no idea where it was. It is a small country completely inside South Africa. They have a big garment industry. At the time I think these jeans were on sale for about $17 each.
FYI, I recently discovered the American Clothing Company. I think they are out of Ohio. I have bought several very well made T-shirts from them. They also make blue jeans and other casual clothing.
