When our daughter was a baby and used a high chair, when we went to a restaurant we carried a newspaper with us and spread it on the floor under the high chair. At the end of the meal we rolled up the newspaper so that no one had to clean anything off the floor.

When our first daughter was born, she behaved like a little adult, so we could take her anywhere. The subsequent kids — not so much.
